Our programs develop practical skills for new mums and parents to use everyday. Learn 6 modules to improve your confidence for having a healthy pregnancy, raising a healthy baby or toddler.

Shared learning

The information we teach is evidence based yet we encourage parents to share their life hacks too. More importantly, we see parents making friends and supporting each other in making healthy choices.

What will it cost?

One of the best bits is our programmes are free! We do need some information for reporting and evaluation to keep us going. Talk to us if you need support with childminding or transport too.

Graduation

Besides enjoying yummy healthy food, learning useful skills and making new friends. Everyone who completes the 6 modules of one of our programmes, graduates with a certificate and small gift!

Module 1:

Why being healthy is so important

Learn with others on why a healthy pregnancy, a healthy baby or a healthy toddler is so important. Find out why many parents have been making small changes and adopting a healthier lifestyle.

Module 2:

How to keep active

 

Learn how to keep active during pregnancy and how parents can support their babies and toddlers to move more. Discover how to stay safe while exercising and which community services are free to use with Sport Auckland and Harbour Sport.

Module 3:

How to plan healthy meals

Discover how easy it is to plan a week of healthy meals for you and your family. Learn the benefits of breastfeeding and where to get support; baby’s first foods, and healthy amounts of sugar, salts and fats.

 

Module 4:

How to choose healthy food

Learn practical skills such as reading food labels, interpreting the nutrition information panel, comparing health star ratings and understanding ingredient lists. 

Module 5:

How to buy healthy food

Buying healthy food is affordable if you know how to. Together we explore the latest shopping tips that makes healthy food possible. If you need help getting food on the table, we may be able to help.

Module 6:

How to prepare healthy meals

Learn preparation skills for managing a week of healthy meals and how to keep food safe. In our workshops we develop cooking skills for healthy versions of traditional and popular meals.
